Using directional drilling in pipeline engineering often results in significantly faster and more cost-effective completion than using trenching methods. Costs related to soil removal and disposal, labour, and the need to rearrange road traffic are also reduced. Horizontal drilling also minimizes the risk of damage to existing underground systems, which may occur during trenching. When there is a need to establish pipeline systems in an area with elevated environmental requirements, directional drilling is the only option.
